Top 3 Winter Activities to Enjoy in Central PA

Snow on small town

Winter in Centra PA can be tough whether you’re used to the cold or not! While I love winter walks when the sun is shining, the gray gets me eggar to get out of the house. Check out our top 3 winter activities if you find yourself in Central PA.

One of the places I know will entertain me for a few hours is the Street of Shops in Lewisburg. This old mill building houses booth after booth of antiques. You could spend days in this place and it’ll likely make you a little hungry, which makes their built-in diner a tasty treat.

The region also has ample festivals which add a little cheer to the season. The Lewisburg Ice Festival is one to attend, with hot coco stands, music, ice sculptures and even a polar plunge (brrrrrr!) to make the cold a little more bearable. When you get chilly, pop in the wonderful boutique stores in Downtown Lewisburg to warm up.

If you’re feeling the need to be a little more active, the region is sprinkled with better-than-average ski resorts. Our favorite, Elk Mountain, truly brings the old-school, après ski vibes with a traditional lodge, restaurant and ski lifts. It’s sure to bring winter joy if you’re a seasoned veteran or just strapping on boots for the first time.
